A professor was teaching about living things in a class. He has two caged rats, one male and the other female, easily understandable by their sizes. He has also got several food items like cheese, cereals and other food items. He told “I have kept this rat in isolation for one day and he is not fed for two hours.” as he pointed to the male rat. “Now to one side of it I keep the female rat and…..” taking a piece of bread, “This! piece of bread on the other side. Now lets release him.”
As soon as he released the rat it went straight to the piece of bread, ate some of it. Professor picked it up and put it back in cage.
“Lets try with some rice now.” He replaced the bread with a bowl of rice this time. This time also the rat hurled towards the bowl of rice, ignoring the option of the female.
Like this he continued with several other food items and each time the rat went to the foods. he didn’t even take a glance of the female.
The Professor started explaining! “What does this prove? Food is the foremost necessity of life….. other parameters are almost nothing when compared to it.”
A boy raised up his hand straight in the air.
“Yes! you have to say something” asked the professor.
“Yes sir!” came the reply. He felt disturbed, but asked him to go on.
“Sir, this is unfair. You changed the food items several times, but never changed the female rat. Might be it’s his sister or something.”
