Who may enter
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over. International entries are welcome.
Description
The contest is organized by the Poetry Centre of Oxford Brookes Univeristy.
There are two categories:
• English as an Additional Language (EAL). To be eligible for the EAL category entrants must confirm that English is not their first language when they pay their entry fee online
• Open category – open to all poets aged 18 years and over
Entrants may enter up to a maximum of ten poems. Poems must be written primarily in English, though a few words or phrases in another language or languages can be included. Entries can be on any subject.
All entries must be unpublished work.

Entry fees
The first three poems submitted cost £5 per poem. Subsequent entries in the same submission cost £4 per poem up to a total of ten poems.
Prizes
The winner of the Open category will receive a prize of £1,000. The runner-up (second-placed poem) will receive a prize of £200.
The winner of the EAL category will receive a prize of £1,000. The runner-up will receive a prize of £200.
