International Radio Playwriting Competition 2018

Who may enter
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over who is not normally a resident of the United Kingdom.
Description
The competition is hosted by BBC World Service and the British Council.
Applicants are invited to write a radio play of approximately 53 minutes in length, on a subject of their choice. The play should have a maximum of six central characters. There must be no central roles for children.
The play must be the original, unpublished work of the person or persons submitting it.
The play must be written in English. Word count approx. 9000-10000 words.

Entry is free.
Prizes
The competition has two first prizes – one for writers with English as a First Language and another for writers with English as a Second Language. The prize for each of the two winners will consist of £2200 sterling and a trip to London to see the winning play being recorded for broadcast on the BBC World Service.
