Who may enter
The EJ Brady Short Story Competition is an international competition open to everyone.
Description
The contest is organized by the Mallacoota Arts Council.
There are three categories:
Mallacoota Prize – short story entries must not exceed 2500 words.
Gabo Prize – very short story entries must not exceed 700 words.
Betka Prize – humorous story entries must not exceed 1000 words.
All entries must be works of fiction. There is no set theme and stories may be written in any genre in adult or young adult literature, please make sure that entries in the “Betka Prize” are humorous.
All entries should be in English.
All entries must be original and previously unpublished works.
Entry fees
$12 AUD to enter the Mallacoota Prize
$10 AUD to enter the Betka Prize
$8 AUD to enter the Gabo Prize
Prizes
Gabo Prize – $500 to the author of the winning story
Betka Prize – $1,000 to the author of the winning story
Mallacoota Prize – $2,000 to the author of the winning story and $300 to the author of the runner-up
